Mason Rudolph Championship: Host Vanderbilt maintains lead
Hunter Stewart
FRANKLIN, Tenn. — The final day of Vanderbilt University's host event, the Mason Rudolph Championship, should prove to be a shootout with the Commodores, as well as highly-ranked Alabama and Georgia Tech, are within three shots of each other as the tournament transitions to Sunday's third and final round.
Vandy still holds a three-shot lead, which they held after day one over the Yellow Jackets. Now the Crimson Tide, led Davis Love III's son Dru, have joined Georgia Tech in the second-place spot.
Hunter Stewart is pacing Vanderbilt at four-under 138, with sophomore Matthias Schwab of Austria two behind Stewart in sixth place. Georgia Tech's top golfer Ollie Schniederjans, as well as sophomore Vince Whaley, share seventh place to lead the Yellow Jackets.
Louisville's French junior Robin Sciot-Siegrist is ahead of Stewart by a stroke in the individual race after a second-round 67. His Cardinals are 12 back in a tie for fifth place.
The tournament features eight top-50 teams, including five inside the top-30. Sunday will conclude this 54-hole event.
