KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The second round of the Kansas City Amateur Championship was played on Saturday, July 18, at Shoal Creek Golf Course. There was a cut made after the second round to 66-golfers.

The morning started off with a 30-minute weather delay at Shoal Creek Golf Club. Once the weather moved through the area, the tournament began play.

Shortly after the event began, another cell of bad-weather approached the course, causing another 50-minute delay. With the off-and-on rain throughout the day, it made very wet conditions of play.

The weather was no problem for Steve Groom of Raytown, Missouri, as he took a commanding lead in the Seniors division. Groom posted a 69 (-2), including four-birdies on the day. Behind Groom is Mark Worthey, trailing by six strokes.

The Open division was cut down to 38-golfers as the cut was a two-round 155. Ryne Fisher climbed the leaderboard to sit in first after 36-holes. Fisher posted a two-round 71-68-139 (-3). Trailing Fisher by one-stroke is Mark Terranova at 140 (-2).

Andy Smith pulled away from the pack in the Legends division as he has a two-round 71-70—141 (-1). Smith is five strokes ahead of Richard Landon who posted a two-round 73-73—146 (+4). The Players divison was cut by three players to a six-golfer field. Brian Moeller is leading the way with a two-round 82-76-158. In second is Pat Hanson with 81-79—160.

The Kansas City Amateur Championship final round will continue tomorrow morning at 7:30.
