ROCKY FACE, Ga. — The Alabama Crimson Tide moved into first place at the Carpet Capital Collegiate, led on Saturday by incoming freshman Davis Riley steady play. At 5-under 139, including 70 in round two, Riley is tied for first place individually with Stephen Behr of Clemson.

The host team Georgia Tech led after the first round at 2-under 286, but shot 10 strokes higher on Saturday and now trail Alabama by four and Auburn by one.

Auburn is being paced by Michael Johnson, who at 141 is only two back of the individual lead. First-round leader Jacob Joiner of Georgia Tech posted 6-under 66 on Friday, and despite 74 on day two, he remains very much in contention heading to Sunday.

The team race is tight beyond the third-place Yellow Jackets, with Clemson one back in fourth and South Carolina two back in fifth. Defending champion LSU holds down sixth place, but is eight back of South Carolina.
