Isaac Petersilie claims Rocky Mountain Open Amateur crown
GRAND JUNCTION, CO (August 21, 2016) -- Isaac Petersilie ran away with the 78th Rocky Mountain Open Amateur division finishing 11-under and five-strokes in front of Taylor Montgomery.
Playing at Tiara Rado Golf Course Petersilie combined rounds of 65-70-68.
Petersilie best round, the 6-under 65, included five birdies, an eagle on the 302 yard par-4 18th and a bogey.
During the final round Petersilie was even-par through 15-holes before ending his week with three consecutive birdies.
Taylor Montgomery shot rounds of 68-68-72 to finish 6-under.
In third place was Troy Dangler at 3-under, Daniel Pearson was fourth at 1-under while Billy Ramsey was 1-over and fifth.
The Rocky Mountain Open is the third oldest tournament in the state of Colorado.
