Kevin Velo wins LasPo Open by two-strokes

LIVERMORE, CA (September 26, 2016) -- San Jose State sophomore Kevin Velo shot rounds of 69 and 71 to win the LasPo Open at Las Positas Golf Course by two-strokes.
Velo, who finished second at the Bayonet Black Horse Amateur this year, is currently looking to build on a freshman campaign that saw him lead the Spartans with a 73.63 scoring average.
Alex Chin (73-69--142) and first round leader Nick Moore (68-74--142) finished tied for second. Andrew Morgan (72-71--143) was fourth while Ryan Sloane (71-73--144) ended up in fifth.
AmateurGolf.com member and Cal star KK Laimbhasut (75-70--145) finished in tie for sixth.
