FAIRFAX, CA (July 23, 2018) - Jason Anthony and Jeff Rangel shot a pair of 7-under 64s to take the Marin County Four-Ball by three shots at the Meadow Club.
Anthony, the San Francisco City champion who also won the NCGA Valley Amateur last year, and Rangel found themselves two shots behind the team of Matt Cohn and Nick Moore, who shot a 9-under 62 in the morning round.
Cohn and Moore were the defending champions in this event and have each won NCGA championships this year. Cohn won the NCGA Mid-Amateur last month and Moore won the NCGA Stroke Play (beating Cohn in a playoff) earlier this month.
But they ran out of steam in the afternoon round, shooting a 1-under 70 and falling to fourth at 10-under 132.
Two teams shared the runner-up position at 11-under 131. San Francisco City semifinalist Tommy Semereaux teamed with Ryan Wilson to shoot 67-64, with the team of Sylvester Gama and Anthony Verna shooting the same numbers.
Craig Cucinella and Erick Northroup finished fifth at 7-under 135.
