Batting 1.000 is easier said than done. Jeff Frazier did just that at the 13th annual Brewer Cup.

The 55-year-old from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania played in not only his first Golf Association of Pennsylvania event but also made his senior debut.

After qualifying with an even-par 72 on Monday, Frazier secured the 3-seed and immediately got to work. Kicking things off with a 6 & 5 win, Frazier turned around Tuesday afternoon with a 4 & 3 win to make quick work of his opponents as he advanced to the Final Four.

Once again, Frazier did not need all 18 holes as he advanced to the championship match 3 & 1. Saving his biggest challenge for last, Frazier was much like Sonny Frazier as he felt out his opponent Paul Rogowicz in the title ‘fight’.

Tied through four, it was Rogowicz that punched first on No. 5. With an immediate counter, Frazier tied the match back up on No. 6, taking a 1 up lead through the turn. Maintaining the lead through 14, the skies opened up adding drama to the final stretch.

“It really started raining,” Frazier told the GAP. “And then Paul hit an incredible putt from deep, and I just missed on mine from 15 feet or so that I thought looked good.”

1 up through 15, Frazier was able to keep Rogowicz at arm’s length to come away with a rain-soaked win.

“Yeah, [sitting] feels good,” said Frazier, a seven-time U.S. Mid-Amateur competitor. “It’s been fun playing with these guys [at 55 years old]. It’s been a good week for me.”
