Rocky Mountain Open: Amateur Hunter Swanson one off the lead heading into final round

With just 18 holes remaining at the Sinclair Rocky Mountain Open at the Tiara Rado Golf Course in Grand Junction, Colo., amateur
Hunter Swanson of Denver, Colo., finds himself in the final group.
Swanson has shot rounds of 66-64 to get to -12 under at the par 71 course to sit in solo second place, just one shot behind Josh Anderson and Jackson Solem.
The rising sophomore at Colorado has started both of his rounds off with fireworks, as he eagled No. 2 in both rounds.
Swanson started 5-under through 10 holes in round one but bogeyed holes No. 12 and 13 to fall to 3-under. He birdied No. 17 and 18 to get back to 5-under 66 for the round.
In the second round, he started 6-under through 14 holes. He went on a hot streak, as he birdied Nos. 12, 13, and 14. He also birdied No. 16, bogeyed No. 17, and birdied No. 18 to finish with a 7-under 64.
Swanson has had a productive summer, finishing in solo second place at the Nevada State Amateur and finishing T13 at the Pacific Coast Amateur. He also finished T20 at the Pac-12 Championships.
Amateur
Jimmy Dales is also in the hunt, sitting at T5 and 8-under. He has shot rounds of 5-under 66 and 3-under 68.
