The golfers have been tested at Sawgrass Country Club and Dye's Valley Course with a challenging setup and tough weather conditions. Here are some of the storylines and players to watch heading into the weekend and how to watch.

Kyle Westmoreland: The Air Force Academy graduate Westmoreland finished No. 192 in the FedExCup Fall last month after becoming the first United States Air Force Army graduate to earn a PGA Tour card. He made 10 of 32 cuts and failed to card a top-25 finish and is currently tied for the lead at 7-under after a second-round 6-under 64 propelled him up the leaderboard. 

Noah Goodwin: Goodwin returns to the Q-School Final Stage after having to withdraw last year after getting a bad case of food poisoning. He’d still receive four guaranteed starts via his two-win campaign on PGA Tour Canada the previous summer, and he turned that into a full schedule on the Korn Ferry Tour this past year. Goodwins's dad in on his bag this week. 

Aldrich Potgieter: After an 8-over 78 in the first round, the talented South African and 2022 British Amateur Champion Potgieter bounced back strong with a 7-under 63 in the second round. Potgieter was affected heavily by the weather at Sawgrass Country Club on Thursday and was able to take advantage of Dye's Valley Course on Friday. Potgieter jumped 95 spots and is T61 at 1-over. He is still far from the cutline, but the 63 gives him a chance heading into the weekend. 

Hayden Springer: Springer has been playing with a heavy heart, as his three-year-old daughter Sage passed away last month because of Trisomy 18, a severe developmental disorder stemming from an extra chromosome. Originally, doctors said she wasn't going to make it out of the hospital post-berth. Springer is currently T6 at 5-under after a first-round 4-under 66 and a second-round 69. 

Blaine Hale Jr.: Hale played with no status last season, participating in Monday qualifiers and mini tours in hopes of polishing his game for Q-School. He has played just one PGA TOUR-sanctioned event, a T26 at the Korn Ferry Tour’s 2022 Veritex Bank Championship.

Trace Crowe: Crowe was in contention for one of the 25 cards given out at the Korn Ferry Tour Championship, but he shot a final round 76 to shoot himself out of contention. He is currently T4, and a good weekend could get him to the PGA Tour this way. 

Wesley Bryan: Bryan is in contention at 4-under and is T9, bu the YouTube star had one of the most interesting rounds of the day, carding eight birdies and one quadruple bogey on Dye’s Valley to shoot 4-under 66. Bryan’s quad included a four-putt, and a four on that hole instead of an eight would’ve given Wesley a share of the course record.

Sam Bennett: The 2022 U.S. Amateur winner and 2023 Master's low amateur has been consistent early, shooting two rounds of 1-under 69 to sit at 2-under and T32 heading into the weekend.
