With just 18 holes remaining at the PGA Tour's Mexico Open at VidantaWorld, 2025 Latin America Amateur champion Justin Hastings of San Diego State is T9 at 12-under and eight shots back of leader Aldrich Potgieter.

Hastings has carded rounds of 69-67-65 to get to 12-under and put himself in position for a top ten finish.

Ballester is currently ranked No. 10 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com World Rankings, and Hastings is ranked No. 19. 

ROUND TWO RECAP

2024 U.S. Amateur champion Jose Luis Ballester and 2025 Latin America Amateur champion Justin Hastings are impressing this week in Mexico.

The two top amateurs are playing in the PGA Tour's Mexico Open at VidantaWorld, and both made the cut. Hastings finished the first two rounds 6-under, while Ballester shot 4-under. The cut fell at 3-under.
