Capping off three days of steady dominance and clutch performances, Team International pulled away from Team USA to win the 2025 Arnold Palmer Cup, 35–25, on Saturday at Congaree Golf Club.
The visitors entered the final day with a four-point cushion and needed just 10.5 points from the 24 available in singles play. They delivered emphatically, earning 15 to capture their first Palmer Cup victory since 2022 and their first on American soil in five years.

After a close opening round on Thursday, Team International edged ahead with a strong Foursomes showing Friday morning, taking 8.5 of 12 available points. Team USA answered with a spirited Mixed Foursomes performance in the afternoon, winning seven matches to cut into the deficit. Still, the International side carried a 20–16 advantage into Saturday’s singles, a cushion they would only widen with a dominant final-day showing.
The final day began with promise for Team USA, who won four of the first six matches to hit the board. Anna Davis set the tone with a 4&3 win over Caitlyn Macnab in Match 37, and Catherine Park grinded out a 1UP victory in Match 39 thanks to a handful of birdies on the way in. Michael La Sasso and Jase Summy added dominant wins of their own, momentarily showing signs of a potential comeback.
But any momentum was short-lived.
Coming down the stretch, Team International stepped on the gas, winning 10 of the final 13 matches, including a string of commanding performances. Carolina Chacarra delivered a clutch 1UP win over Megha Ganne in Match 45, closing with six straight pars to polish off a perfect 4–0 record for the week. Her mix of grit and consistency helped anchor a deep International roster that found its stride when it mattered most.
“I just tried to stay in the moment and play smart golf,” said Chacarra after clinching her fourth point. “We came here to win it together, and that’s exactly what we did.”
Justin Hastings of the Cayman Islands also went 4–0, finishing strong with a 2UP win over Ethan Fang. The former San Diego State standout built an early lead and held firm, even as Fang mounted a late challenge.
Several International players claimed runaway victories to seal the deal. Meja Örtengren turned in one of the day’s most dominant performances, an 8&6 rout of Kendall Todd, while Filip Jakubcik, Pablo Ereño, and Maria José Marin each closed out matches before reaching the 18th green.
Team USA’s highlights weren’t limited to the early charge. Carson Bacha, Isabella McCauley, and Wells Williams each delivered full-point efforts down the stretch, while Farah O’Keefe showed steady poise throughout the week and was honored as one of two recipients of the Michael Carter “Junior” Memorial Award. International team member Louise Rydqvist received the award as well, which is presented annually to one player from each side who best embodies the character and spirit of Michael Carter, a former GCAA Arnold Palmer Cup intern who tragically passed away at age 19.
Ultimately, the balance of the International squad proved decisive, bringing the trophy back from the United States. They’ll seek to take the cup back to the United States next year, and they’ll have to do it on the road.
