Cal State Open: Hoey 2 shots back entering final round

BEAUMONT, Calif. (July 18, 2012) -- Amateur Rico Hoey is just two shots back and tied for second place at the 2012 California State Open at Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon's Champions Course.
Hoey has remained in the mix throughout the first three rounds, following up his 6-under 66 in the second round with a 4-under 68 Wednesday.
Yi Keun Chang is at 8-under following a stellar 6-under 66 to get back into the mix Wednesday.
Jay Lim shot a 3-under 69 Wednesday and is tied for 24th at 6-under along with fellow amateur Ki Taek Lee.
ABOUT THE
The Championship will be a 72-hole stroke play
tournament contested over four days. Following the
conclusion of 36-holes, the field will be cut to the Top
60 players and ties. Championship is open to both
Professionals and Amateurs. Amateurs must carry an
index of 2.4 or below at the time of entry. Pre-
qualifying required for non-exempt players.
