Odaiyar takes 1st Round lead at Dixie Women's
CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (Dec. 30, 2012) – Ocala, Fla., resident Kristine Odaiyar shot an opening-round 69 to take the lead after the first round of the 2012 Women’s Dixie Amateur being held at ClubLink’s Heron Bay Golf Club.
Purdue University freshman Kendall Dusenberry and Delray Beach resident Christina Ocampo were tied for second at 2-under par 70. Only six players were under par as steady winds blew through the 6,200 yard course.
Two-time defending champion Paula Reto, who lives in the area, could do no better than a 76 and is tied for 28th place at four-over par.
In the women’s senior division, Rosie Ashley of North Augusta, South Carolina and Ivy Steinberg of Stouffville, Ontario, Canada, tied for the first-round lead at 79.
