Classic A.W. Tillinghast design dating from 1919, with bunkering and greens contouring revised by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw in 1993. Always one of the highest ranked courses in Texas, Brook Hollow hosted the 1987 U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship and numerous Texas State Amateur Championships.
The original Tillinghast design featured fields of bunkers separating the holes, but those bunkers have long since been replaced by trees, creating narrow hole corridors. Combined with small greens, this makes Brook Hollow a supreme test of shotmaking.
