ORLANDO, FL (December 29, 2017) - Junior golfer Katie Yoo stayed put at 3-under on Friday but that was good enough to take the lead at the Women's Orlando International Amateur.

Teeing it up at the Walt Disney World Golf Complexes Palm Course Yoo had a seesaw second round with a trio or birdies and three bogeys. The birdies fell on Nos. 1, 9 and 11.

Kennesaw State's Roanne Tomlinson, held the lead after the first round, but dropped a pair of shots in the second round with a 2-over 74. She will start the final round 2-under and a shot off the pace.

Behind the top-two in the standings there is a bit of separation before you find the group of three sharing third place at 1-over. The group is comprised of junior Jenny Kim, Morgan Baxendale (Vanderbilt) and Ariadna Fonseca-Diaz (Kansas).

ROUND ONE RECAP

On the strength of an opening round 4-under 68 Roanne Tomlinson holds a slim one-stroke lead with the first round of the Women's Orlando International Amateur in the books.

Playing at Walt Disney World Golf Complexes Palm Course Tomlinson got her day started on the wrong foot with a first hole bogey but following a birdie on No. 3 that returned the Kennesaw State junior to level-par it was nearly all clear sailing the rest of the way.

Still at even-par Tomlinson went into the red with a birdie on the 7th before adding circles on each of the next three holes to reach 4-under. Tomlinson then got to 5-under with her final birdie of the round on the 13th only to drop a shot three holes later.

For Tomlinson, the winner of the 2017 Florida Women's Amateur Stroke Play Championship, Kennesaw State is the third stop of her collegiate career. First she played a year at McLennan Community College where she finished tied for second in the 2016 NJCAA Women's National Championship before playing her sophomore year at Seminole State. While at Seminole State she finished third in the 2017 NJCCA National Tournament and earned All-American honors along the way.

In second place one shot off the pace at 3-under is junior golfer Katie Yoo. During the round Yoo rolled in four birdies and didn't bogey a hole until the 18th.

Three others including Jessica Reinecke (Wisconsin), Gabriela Coello (Georgia) and Ariadna Fonseca-Diaz (Kansas) are sharing third at 1-under.
