Two Teams share South Carolina Super Senior Four-Ball Lead

BLYTHEWOOD, SC (May 16, 2017) - Defending champions Mike Weiner and George Ackerman find themselves at the top of the leaderboard once again after round one of the 3rd Annual South Carolina Super Senior Four-Ball at Cobblestone Park Golf Club.

Ackerman (Charleston) and Weiner (Kiawah Island) find themselves tied for the lead with John Laehn (Aiken) and Patrick Luskey (Aiken) after both teams fired opening rounds of 6 under par 65.

Ackerman and Weiner's round included five front nine birdies and a closing eagle at the par five eighteenth. The lone bogey for the defending champs came at number thirteen. Laehn and Luskey carded three front nine birdies and four on the back nine with their lone bogey coming at number seven. Jim Burgess (Murrels Inlet) and Bob Hammersla (Greenville) sit alone in second after an opening round of 66.

In the Legends Division, Vic Hannon (Columbia) and Bob Stringer (Blythewood) cruised to an opening round of nine under par 62. Their round included eight birdies and an eagle with one bogey coming at number 4.They will carry a five shot lead over their nearest competitors heading into the final round.

ABOUT THE South Carolina Super Senior Four Ball

The Championship will be split into two Divisions - a Championship Division for players 65-69 and a Legends Division for players over the age of 70.
