Southwestern Amateur Preview: A Centennial-Plus Tradition Continues
From the rugged fairways of Desert Mountain’s Outlaw Course, 144 of the world’s best amateur golfers—72 men and 72 women—will gather June 11–14, 2025, for the 110th Southwestern Amateur Championship. With over a century of tradition, elite fields, and back-to-back drama in recent years, the Southwestern Amateur has become a proving ground for future PGA and LPGA stars.

📍 Championship Venue: Outlaw Course Returns

The Outlaw Course at Desert Mountain Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, reprises its role as host, following standout events there in 2021 and 2024. Known for its panoramic Sonoran views and demanding layout, Outlaw offers a minimalist, links-style challenge. Its firm, fast fairways and strategic elevation changes promise a championship-caliber test.

ABOUT THE Southwestern Amateur

The Southwestern Men's Amateur Golf Championship is a prestigious 72-hole stroke play competition open to top national-level amateurs holding a handicap index of 1.4 or better.

Following the first 36 holes, the field will be cut to the low 36 players and ties.

Player selection is determined by the Southwestern Golf Association (SWGA) Selection Committee, based on:
- Exemptions
- Competitive playing resumes
- National and international rankings

In addition, the SWGA reserves the right to invite amateurs of significant national or international stature, as well as other players of notable achievement, to participate in the championship.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit detailed golf resumes highlighting accomplishments in major amateur tournaments and other competitive events.
