MEMPHIS, TN (June 10, 2018) - Braden Thornberry finished 4-under and in a tie for 26th at the FedEx St. June Classic. For Thornberry it was his second straight top-30 showing at TPC Southwind after finishing tied fourth a year ago.
Thornberry has now played in three PGA Tour events, making the cut twice.
The rising Ole Miss senior put together rounds of 73-66-65-72 and he began the final round inside the top-10. On Sunday Thornberry finished his round on a high note with birdies on Nos. 16 and 18, however his best golf came in the middle two rounds when he played 9-under during the 36-hole stretch. In rounds two and three Thornberry birdied 11 times while bogeying only once.
How will Thornberry, ranked fourth in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com Rankings, celebrate playing well on the PGA Tour once? By heading up to Long Island to play in the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills where he will be one of 21 amateurs set to compete.
